The Spring enters with trepidation.
A young, naked girl dipping
The end of her toes in a lake.
Slowly,
Afraid of cold.
A foot comes next.
Bare leg.
Goosebumps along her body.
Sunshine is not constant.
Diving or screaming,
Hiding or smiling,
Between the waves of clouds.
Teasing.
Begging.
“Jump in,”
She says.
